Strollers are things of desire too….
My husband often tells me that he should’ve been born in the golden age of comedy, but I’ve always felt that I was very much born in the right era. I love technology and consumerism and choice. Basically, I love shopping!
And I’ve never been more grateful for choice, than now as a Mother. As my own Mum likes to remind me, it was harder 30-something years ago when seemingly everyone had exactly six re-usable nappies, two milk bottles and those ‘pushchairs’ that were as stable as a drunk Dad! Thank God things have changed.
One of my great loves are limited edition and designer buggies, and there’s an amazing selection online and on the high street. From BMW to Aston Martin, and Van Gough to Versace, you might want to get your credit card handy, this is going to be an expensive read…
Silver Cross – Rose Gold Edition Balmoral Pram (Harrods)
Just launched, the Silver Cross Balmoral is one of the most desirable luxury prams on the market right now. Made in Britain, made to order and made for the elite, rumour has it that this 18 Carat Rose Gold chariot will set you back a mere £40k.
The Bugaboo – Van Gough (From £659, Bugaboo.com)
Bugaboo always get their collaborations right. They’ve teamed up with Diesel and Missoni in the past and even had an Andy Warhol print. However, their latest partnership with The Van Gough Museum is simply stunning. It’s luxury Almond Blossom print represents new life and beginnings, and available for the Bugaboo Bee. We love.
Versace – Book Plus (£2,700, Harrods)
This is the sort of bling pushchair you’d expect to see Kanye West rockin’. It’s understated yet manages to stand out from the crowd. However, it would take a brave (or rich) Mum to buy a bright white padded travel system.
Cybext Callisto – by Jeremy Scott (£500 – House of Fraser)
It just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a snazzy set of wheels. We love this cute kitsch print from Katy Perry’s favourite designer Jeremy Scott – and so does she, since her sister owns one too.
Silver Cross, Aston Martin Surf (£3,000 – Harrods)
If James Bond were to settle down and have children, he would most definitely be at the handlebar of the Silver Cross Aston Martin. Bringing class, decadence and luxury to another level, the collaboration of these two iconic British brands is a marriage made in stroller heaven.
Maclaren – BMW Buggy (£285, John Lewis)
When cars and buggies come together, it’s a natural partnership but Maclaren could have done so much more with this…
Fendi – Monster Print Stroller (£1,155 – Harrods)
This playful print is perfect for your little one, while still looking classy and stylish at the same time. Light, compact and with luxury detail, it’s no surprise that gazillionaire Tamara Ecclestone has her very own.
