What does success look like? It’s a question so often bounded around boardrooms, at interviews and when we’re reflecting on achievements.
As a new Mum success was just surviving! #Winning was my favourite hashtag used in those precious first 12 months of having a newborn. A term reserved for those rare occasions when I managed to get through a day without cleaning up vom, or changing my son in a pub toilet without him going ballistic!
I’ll be honest though, I wouldn’t have survived it without a barrage of gadgets – and at the heart of those was the humble baby bag.
I recently had the fortune to speak with Jacqueline Waggett, you might know her better as the creator of PacaPod. In case you live under a rock, her luxurious bags are made with parents in mind, with lots of well-considered compartments for all the bits you need in those early days. And unlike most other functional sacks, PacaPod’s are super stylish – think the Mulberry of the nursery world, but more affordable and baby proof.
With international expansion, this innovative British brand has been around for more than 10 years, and many more to come I’m sure.
Inspired by my meeting I’ve picked out some of my favourite items to share with you, including their latest launches.
FAB FOR DADS
The Nelson Characol – £72
It’s not just for Mums, PacaPod have a dedicated range for Dads too. The Nelson Charcoal is one of their latest arrivals, designed for travel. Lightweight, yet strong enough to withstand all the things men pack (whatever they are!) it’s a robust system that any Man would be proud to be seen with.
FOR A TOUCH OF LUXURY
Firenze, Claret – £275
I’m a sucker for all things claret. This pebble leather bag is hardwearing for all those many day trips you’ll be taking. It’s hard not to be seduced by it.
Easy to access, it makes going out stylish.
FOR EVERY DAY SURVIVAL!
Changer Pod £13.94 – Storm Egg
Seriously, what’s not to love about this. Make this your go-to gift for blooming Mothers and to-be Dads. Making schleps to the bathroom quick and simple, it’s the perfect accessory for day trips and travel – particularly when time is of the essence on planes, trains and automobiles. Its versatile colours are universally appealing and always happy!
