I know what you’re thinking, it’s far too early to be getting festive kung-ho. But let me tell you, it’s time to get the stockings ready, because Christmas is a-coming!
More to the point, I’ve been bribing my son to behave and eat his dinner with the promise that Santa’s on his way (with a Sea Patrol boat)!
Just as well then, that Winter Wonderland is on the horizon.
HOB KNOB IN THE SNOW
If you’re unfamiliar with it, Winter Wonderland attracts families, friends and the occasional celebrity (Simon Cowell is a fan), for London’s biggest winter event.
This year it returns on November 22ndand runs until the early New Year (Jan 6).
If you haven’t been before, you HAVE to go. Hyde Park is transformed into a magical and enchanting backdrop, with lots of fun attractions. One of my favourite memories is the outdoor ice rink (the county’s largest), although as my husband and he’ll say the apres-ski style bar!
MUST BE SEEN FOR 2018
New for this year are a couple of exciting treats:
- The Magical Ice Kingdom Presents: The Secret Forest. This is a world within a world with woodland animals and mythical creatures, created from more than 500 tonnes of ice and snow. Basically, it’s a bit like living inside the Ice Age film!
- Peter Pan on Ice Teletubbies Christmas Show – great for wee nippers.
- Winter Wonderland Comedy Club Ice Sculpting Workshops – from 9pm with big names from Russell Howard to Luisa Omielan performing.
- There’s also a new family entrance offering speedy entrance directly to Santa Land.
